Ethnography
Ethnography gets to the very heart of consumer motivations by allowing us to study behaviour first hand in the home, office, car, supermarket – wherever the consumer goes the researcher will follow! Through the approach we can explore not only the most top of mind or interesting behaviours, but the reality of ordinary events and conversations, revealing otherwise unearthed implications and opportunities for products and brands.
Our approach to ethnography is pragmatic, combining pure ethnography with other research techniques, allowing us to not only observe, but to explore, record and bring consumer behaviour to life for our clients through personal diaries and video footage as well as discussion following observation. This combined approach offers our clients both definitive insights into consumer behaviour and tangible, actionable recommendations.
Projectives
Getting underneath the skin of behaviour to really understand motivation and the impact of the emotional rather than the rational processes has challenged researchers for many years. Here at Nunwood we believe that using creative and fun tasks delivers the most insightful results. This goes way beyond the usual projective techniques.
So what makes us different – it is our creative toolkit, our ability to tailor all our projects to our clients business needs and our willingness (and ability) to design new techniques should our existing tool kit fall short. We are constantly developing our techniques and processes.
